One Busy Bee!

I have been insanely busy this last couple of weeks, what with a challenge on the Aussie polyclay site, making a pendant for an online contest and the biggest….getting prepped for our Relay For Life this coming weekend. Then let’s toss on the household stuff that needed to be done….laundry, dishes, getting the garden(s) planted. [...]

Museum Show update

It seems that the girl doing community service there got her phone lists mixed up. I DID get juried into the show! oiks….now I have to get something to wear to the opening.

The Juried Show

I just got a phone call telling me that “L’Chiam-To Life” was not juried into the Bakersfield Museum of Art show next month. So, Tomorrow I will head down there and pick it up where it will come home to be displayed in our living room. I am very proud of it so having it [...]

The Big day

was today. Yep, i really did it. I took my “L’Chiam-To Life” down to the Bakersfield Art Museum and entered it into the exhibit. Talk about nervous. Oy. They said I should know if I get juried in at the end of this week or early next week. I don’t think I will be nervous [...]

This weekend

wasn’t spent in creating with clay, wire, or any other crafty item. This weekend I spent the time tearing out evil bamboo bushes and planting flowers….colors, lots of colors! I got one section of the front yard done, two more sections to go. The next section will get paving stones (or cement) so we can [...]

new pendant

I was playing around with copper tubing and different gauges of wire and finished out a focal with it. I am really happy with how it turned out. Thanks for stopping by. I am sure I will be more prolific soon.

the Tree

well it is 99% finished. I didn’t bake enough leaves so teh final forest leaves are cooking now. I shall have a picture for everyone tomorrow.

frustrated

I am frustrated with the LChiam lettering. It is not looking right hanging from the leafy wires so now I either need to secure it to the lava rock or the edges of the base. neither way looks right to me. I have a feeling I am going to have to redo the lettering…..maybe onto [...]

This was supposed to be yesterday’s post

but the DSL gods decided differently. So, it is a “today” post instead. Yesterday was spent refining my “Roots” tree. I added highlights to the tree itself and then worked on the black lava rock it is growing out of. I also added the resin to the top of the letters. Today will be making [...]
